Crazy and Wild Birds!

The above card was entered into Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge on SCS today.  This challenge was to honor a lady (Ms. Eula) celebrating her 108th birthday - imagine what she's seen!  If you go to SCS and click on the Teapot Tuesday challenge on the home page of SCS - it will take you to the thread and give you the full details.   I had such a fun time putting this card together and making up this silly little poem:

We must hurry up and pack; don’t forget to put the seed in the sack.

Oh, we musn’t forget to pack a carrot; as a gift for our hostess, Starlet, a St. Lucia parrot.
Let’s hit the Brazilian skies, to begin the long flight; to meet up with Starlet and Beauffer before Tuesday night.
Once together, we must make some plans; to show Ms. Eula that we’re her biggest fans.
So remember only happy squawks, no blubbery tears, as we celebrate Ms. Eula’s birthday of 108 years!

If I were to make it to 108 - I'm not sure I would have all of my mental faculties in tact - as it is kinda iffy sometimes now!

Card Recipe:

Paper:  SU Daffodil Delight; Tangerine Tango; Taken With Teal; Greenhouse Gala DP
Markers:  Marina Mist, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Cherry Cobbler, Regal Rose, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, River Rock and Early Espresso
Accessories:  SU Sweetest Stem Embosslit; Stickles (on the flowers); SU Snail
Stamp:  Unknown - I usually add the name of the stamp company, but for some reason this one didn't get written in the index.
I meant to pop up the birds - but forgot!

Okay, as I said yesterday (and not too loudly), I am tip toeing out to the pool for a float about - so Mother Nature doesn't hear me and shove her clouds my way.  It's 90 degrees outside and off I go!  Thanks for stopping by for a visit.  Later Gator!

Sympathy Card

Good afternoon.  I had every intention of getting in the pool today (since Autumn seems to be fast approaching all of a sudden), but, Mother Nature nixed that plan.  When I headed back to Mt. Pulaski this afternoon from Springfield around 1:00 p.m., it was pouring down rain.  As I neared Mt. Pulaski, there wasn't a trace of rain.  I thought "oh boy, pool time."  Nah, just about that time it started to rain - which is really okay because the plants, etc. need the water.  Okay, just between us, I am counting on pool time tomorrow, but don't tell you know who!

The above upload is a sympathy card which I made yesterday, which I don't really like to do, (and I'm sure that everyone feels pretty much the same way), but, unfortunately, every so often we need to drop one in the mail.

My friend, Kat, sent me a link to a "cat ranch."  The gentleman that owns the land and the cats - has adopted abused or unwanted cats/kittens.  The ranch now has approximately 500 cats.  Please go to http://www.caboodleranch.com/ and check out the pictures of the cat houses he has built.  In fact, an entire community of cat homes have been erected.  They also welcome donations if you are so inclined.

Okay, that's it for today.  Later Gator.

High End (Six figure) Birdhouse

Good afternoon - it's Sunday - yes, my favorite day!  Today, I have for you a birdhouse (made from the SU milk carton die).  However, this is no ordinary birdhouse - it will be featured in the realtor's high end housing!  This newly constructed, beautifully blue sided birdhouse comes with stainless appliances, wood floors, fireplace, granite counter tops, and many more amenities, including a live-in blue bird!  Since the bird must stay with the beautiful home, you will need someone to constantly clean up the bird poop - minor detail!

Birdhouse recipe:  SU Bashful Blue CS, SU Brown CS, SU Pink Pirouette CS, Sage CS, SU Pacific Point CS and SU DP.  The bashful blue CS was run through the Big Shot using the Wild Dashes Texturz Plate.  I used an SU border punch on the roof (but I can't remember the name - sorry - Julie (my SU demonstrator)), and the SU Beautiful Butterfly embosslit; the bird was punched using the SU 2-step bird punch.  The gold string was Michael's.

It's a beautiful day here in Mt. Pulaski, IL - sunny and 89 degrees with just a little breeze. As I sit here in the office, I see a little ground squirrel (they are pests, but cute to watch). The little darling is carrying off pieces of my red mulch - he must be insulating his underground home for winter. I'm so glad I picked the right mulch for him to be comfy and warm this winter! Oh, he just went into stealth mode (a bird landed nearby). Aw come on guys, he or she (the bird) is in my mulch too. Off goes the ground squirrel with his little red treasure. I will have to end up buying more mulch before Fall is over.

Okay, I am going to finish up a sympathy card and head out to the pool for a float about!  Have a relaxing Sunday.  Later Gator!

No card to post today - but I did have fun!

Good evening!  No card today, I didn't have any time.  I picked up my sis at 11:00 this morning and we went to TGI's around 11:30 for lunch.  TGI's always has good food.  We had our lunch and several laughs and headed for our make and take which started at 1:00 p.m.   We made 10 cards - 5 designs/2 of each design.  Our SU demonstrator, Julie, put the make and take on and had her cute baby, Anna, with her.  Anna is darling and you just want to give her hugs.   I am so thankful for my sis - she can always make me laugh!

On our way home, we took the scenic route through Chatham, IL and OMG - I cannot believe how big Chatham has become.  I told my sister it is so big that it is almost a part of Springfield.

I dropped my sis back off - zoomed back to Mt. Pulaski, changed clothes and hopped in the truck with my honey pie, Jim, and off we went to a cookout.  After the cookout, everyone was going up to the Balloon Fest in Lincoln, but we passed and came on home.  I think I am out of steam!  Ha, ha - my husband just said - honey you always have plenty of hot air!

Signing off now.  Hope everyone is well.  Later Gator!
