MMSC73 - Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge

This card was made for a first time challenge in the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #73.  I've been trying a few challenges lately, they aren't for prizes - mainly just to follow the sketches and have fun.  The challenge for the above card was either for a plain design (no embellishments on the side) or same design with 3 embellishments on each side.  I chose to add flowers on my card.  First I tested it with buttons, brads, gems, and finally chose to put flowers on it.  There are so many really, really pretty cards in the challenge that mine just sort of fades away, but it was fun nonetheless.

Card Recipe:

Stamps:  Wild Flower Box Set - Staci's Stamps
Ink:  Soft Suede and Early Espresso (stamped off)
Paper:  SU Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue; Basic Gray Granola DP and Michael's ivory CS
Accessories:  SU gem brads; Prima flowers and SU punch.

What a beautiful day today - mid-70's and breezy.  I ran up to the post office this afternoon to get a book of stamps and saw kids playing in the leaves - raked up piles of leaves and the little ones were jumping in the piles laughing!

Well, gotta run - stuff to do, so turning off the blurb on the blog.  Later Gator!!

Flutterby Wednesday 124

Good afternoon and awaaaay we go!  This card was made for the Flutterby Wednesday 124 challenge.  Actually, I had the base of this card and the squares sitting on my desk, as they were to be for another project a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't put that project together.  So, I decided to try to enter Danni's challenge again using the materials.  The last time I entered Danni's challenge, my link was just a mess and only one-half of my card was displayed.  If it doesn't work this time for me - I'll have to reach out to Danni again.  (Danni is one of the nicest ladies (who currently has an injured finger and can't color) and she operates that challenge blog.)  You have to use an angel, fairy or butterfly on your card.  So, I decided to put together some butterflies together and put the materials together and use it for Danni's challenge.  Hope you like it.

Card Recipe:

Stamps:  Flores Suaves (script); SU God's Beauty (top butterfly); 2nd butterfly unknown; 3rd butterfly from Hampton Arts
Paper:  SU Pacific Point, Whisper White; Michael's Black CS
Acccessories:  SU punches and Pink Hedgehog black ribbon; Ranger Stickles (various colors)

Today is a beautiful day, about 76 degrees and a nice breeze.  My honeypie and I went fishing this morning over at Clinton Lake, it was a bit chilly running across the water in the boat, but warmed up pretty quick.  We caught a few, released them back in the lake, drove around the lake for a bit and headed home about 1:00 today - it was very nice to just enjoy the lake scenery.

We are going to run into Lincoln to pick up my car and grab a bite to eat, so I'll see ya tomorrow.  Later Gator!

Card Recipe:

Paper:  SU Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White and Michaels' black CS
Stamp: Unknown - a gift
Ink:  Real Red, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight
Accessories:  Su punch, Pink Hedgehog ribbon, Ranger Stickles and Bow Easy

Please take a look at Cammie's blog and take a minute to send a card - it will be so appreciated.

Happy Harmony Card

I like these colors together - real red and tempting turquoise - they are just cheery and bright.  I'm sending it to an old friend who is sort of down in the dumps - thought I'd put a note in the card and send it off to her tomorrow.  We can all use a bit of cheering up every so often - don't ya think?

I was just reading the paper this morning and thought it would be nice to have one day where the paper would just have happy news (not just the comics), but just happy news throughout the whole paper.  Okay, so maybe you'd have to leave out the stock news and the obits, oh and police beat, oh and the city and state section - so, we are down to the classifieds.  So, that was a bad idea, since I guess the newspaper couldn't really come up with enough happy news to fill a section - or if they can - they don't print it.  I mean really, wouldn't it be nice to open the paper and see a smiley face that said - Only Happy and Fun News in this paper.  Just one day a week of "get me out of the real world news" would be good.  Let's see, pictures of newborn babies, puppies, kittens, toads, frogs, lions - you get the picture!  Lots of pet adoption pictures of the pets with their new owners; kids at Toys 'R Us playing on toys, artwork from the local kindergartens, etc.,etc. and a couple of stand-up comedians to deliver the paper spewing their funnies!  Alrighty then - back to normality.  That sort of sounds like a little town - a boring little town or a disease - I'm sorry - OMG - you are suffering from normality!!  Truthfully, boring and normal is mostly good - that  means things are running smoothly.  So, whenever I want happy news, I'll just come back to kathyville and write it!  Take that SJR!

Okay, done rambling now - blurb on the blog is over.  Later Gator!

FS190 - HobbyduJour - Sallie (featured stamper) on SCS

This card was uploaded to SCS for the featured stamper challenge.  Sallie (known as HobbyduJour) was selected - and she has a fabulous gallery.  Next time you go to SCS - check it out.  I paged through several of her cards and so many of them had beautiful detail - but since this is Sunday - my do nothing (or very little) day - I chose an easy card.  Same colors, used a butterfly, but I added a ribbon, charm and corner picture tabs for my card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  SU French background
Paper:  SU Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, and Regal Rose
Accessories:  SU pic tab punch, misc. ribbon, charm and Ranger Stickles

My day has consisted of making a few cards (this being one of them), playing with my cats (I gave them some new ribbon) and they were happy campers!  I haven't even read the newspaper yet (well, I did comb my hair - sorta), brushed my teeth, took a shower.  Okay, I have accomplished a new necessities today - so it isn't a total loss.

The weather is a bit chilly, but nice - it is 58 degrees - a nice brisk Autumn day (or you'll need a sweatshirt or jacket day)!

Well, hope you like the card and thanks for stopping by for a little blurb on my blog.  Later Gator!

QFTD28 Card - SCS

I've not posted on the blog for a few days because I lost my black kitty, Blossum.  Some of you may remember that we've had him to the vet, to specialists, but Wednesday of this week, his little heart just gave out and he didn't have any fight left in him.  He was my buddy and I'll always keep him in my heart.  I know that he is in a happy place where there is no suffering -  just toys, catnip and lots of friends for him to play with.

The card above was made for the Queen for the Day 28 challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.  Carla (cmsuto) has a beautiful gallery and I think I must have spent a couple of hours just looking at her gorgeous cards.  I chose her card (very similar to mine - different paper and brad) - but same images and colors.  I hadn't even put ink to this set before today - but I kind of like the dark colors.

Card Recipe:

Stamps:  SU Dream Gardens
Paper:  SU Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Georgia Pacific Ivory and Basic Gray Granola
Ink:  Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  SU brad and SU punch

My honeypie (husband) and I went to a fish fry tonight at a friend's house in Lincoln.  There were tons of people there - even though it was cold and rainy.  When I say cold - I mean chillier than it has been - it was 63 and rainy.  We were all sitting in the garage and everyone brought a dish - so there was tons of food and chatting!

Well, that's it tonight for my blurb on my blog.  Later Gator!

MMTPT112 Challenge on SCS

Good morning or hello late nighters - whichever you prefer.  I uploaded this card to SCS this morning for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday Challenge 112.  Miss Priss is dressed to the nines isn't she.  She has on her fur, her diamond necklace, her best hat, and her ruby-studded cat glasses!  Miss Priss in all her bliss!  Dare I say Miss Priss is on the prowl today.  I do believe that she will be turning some kitty boy heads and hearing some meow-wows!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Meljen Digi stamp
Paper:  SU Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White; Cosmo Cricket DP
Ink:  Real Red, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Basic Gray and Black
Accessories:  Prima flowers, feather, SU rhinestones, misc. ribbon, Ranger Stickles and SU violet gemstone brad

Happy Birthday SIS - today is her official birthday.  I will call her later this morning (at a civilized hour) and sing her Happy Birthday - that should make her laugh.

Okay that's the end of my blurb on the blog today, tonight - whatever.  Later Gator!

Happy Birthday to My Sister on 09-21-2010

Even though my sister's birthday is tomorrow (09/21/2010), I'll be seeing her tonight at card club, so she'll get her card and present.  Hope she doesn't check out the blog until later tonight!  My sister is the sweetest and kindest person I know - and I would be miserable without her as my friend and sister!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  SU Flowers in Silhouette
Paper:  SU Bashful Blue, Night of Navy and Whisper White
Ink:  SU Bashful Blue and Night of  Navy
Accessories:  SU Punch; SU Blue gemstone; Cuttlebug Embossing folders and misc. ribbon

This will be another short little blurb on the blog tonight, as I need to get my bag ready for card club and drive into Springfield to pick up my sister.  Later gator!!

I Love Sundays!

Happy Sunday!  Sundays are just the very best - they are my do whatever days or do nothing days!  Nothing is exactly what I did today.  I caught up on some shows that recorded while I was gone - and that was it for my day.  Honeypie brought Chinese take-out home from Lincoln - so, we didn't even have to go out to eat!  My hubby is the very best!

This card was for the QFTD27 challenge on SCS.  Darla Ryan was named the new queen and she has a most gorgeous gallery of cards.  I picked one to CASE - and changed the color scheme and stamp - but the layout remained the same.  I actually don't think I have ever used this stamp set before today - but it just seemed perfect.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  SU Wings of Friendship
Paper:  Su Whisper White, Bermuda Bay and Cosmo Cricket Togetherness DP
Ink:  Bermuda Bay
Accessories:  SU punch and paper piercer/mat; ribbon misc.

Today is a short blurb on the blog because I have to get back to doing nothing you know!  Later Gator!

A Little Bit of Sponging

Hey - it's Saturday and tomorrow is my favorite day - do nothing Sunday!  Yeah!

On the above card, I used a little bit of sponging - it was suppose to look like an old letter that has discolored, but I think it instead looks like an old letter that had ink spilled on it - oh well.  I'll keep trying my hand until I get better.  I do love the stamp set - its from SU and called Flores Suaves.

Card Recipe:

Paper:  SU Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Night of Navy and 7 Gypsies DP
Ink:  Soft Suede and Bashful Blue
Stamps:  Flores Suaves
Accessories:  Misc. ribbon

Today was a typical Saturday -- did laundry, dusted furniture, dusted my floors, vacuumed the area rugs, cleaned bathrooms and power washed my side porch and furniture.  Finally, I got to sit down and make a card later this afternoon.  Like I said above, I'm not totally happy with it, but I'll keep trying the sponging technique.

While I was working on my card, one of my cats (Chewey, the oldest), happened to come into the office and found an open sack of feathers that I occasionally use on my cards.  Now mind you, the sack was large and held like a million feathers (slight exaggeration)!  I ran to switch the loads in the laundry and didn't notice Chewey lurking around the feather bag.  When I returned to the office, there in the middle of the office floor, was the empty sack with a million feathers everywhere.  Chewey was playing in the feathers (like kids play in a pile of leaves)!  As soon as he saw me, he took off (carrying a ton of feathers all over his fur).  Hence, I followed the feather trail and there he was circling the island in the kitchen making his escape to the living room - leaving a further trail of feathers.  Finally, I picked him up - removing said feathers and cleaned up the mess.  He has been back in the office several times today eyeballing the sack of feathers in the basket trying to determine, I'm sure, how best to pull the bag down.  He was pretty cute covered in different colored feathers!  I should have snapped his picture, next time (and I'm sure there will be a next time), I'll get his picture.

Well, that's it for the blurb on the blog - later gator!

Silhouette Sentiments

I made this card at a recent make 'n take put on by the stamp club SU Demonstrator (Julie).  I really love the colors on this simple little card.  It was easy and fast and can be used with just about any sentiment.  These make 'n takes put on by Julie (the stamp club demonstrator) are great - she brings all the materials, stamps and ink and we show up with our snail and scissors and park our bottoms in the chairs and await her excellent directions.

I got to see my great nephew for the first time today at my sister's house (he's  5 weeks old) and his name is Cameron.  He is just the cutest little thing and he loves to cuddle and be cooed.  He does not, however, like his diaper changed - and expressed his dislike of that situation quite vocally.  Once he gets his clean diaper and clothes back on - he's quite content.  Cameron is quite the charmer!!  Aren't babies just the best?!

I watched the season finale of my favorite TV show, HBO's True Blood, last night that recorded while we were in Kentucky and Tennessee.  The personalities of the characters seem to be taking twists and turns which will lead into next season.  However, the clincher is - it is going to be next June before it starts up again and I just hate waiting.  It hasn't helped to have read all of Charlaine Harris' books in the Sookie Stackhouse series - because the HBO series hasn't followed along with the books very closely at all.  I think the thing to do would be to have a 1 hour episode (at least monthly) until next June when the series starts up again.  That would be sort of like dangling the bait to keep everyone going (especially me).  Maybe I'll send an e-mail to HBO with that suggestion.  I bet their trash cans are full of good ideas sent by viewers - what do you think?

Well, that's it tonight for the blurb on the blog, so - later gator!

Card Reciple:
Stamps:  SU Silhouette Sentiments (Level I Hostess)
Paper:  SU Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and SU Elegant Soiree DP
Ink:  Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake
Accessories:  SU Circle Punch; SU Very Vanilla ribbon

Mothermark's Challenge 111 From SCS

This is the card I put together for Mothermark's Teapot Party Challenge #111 on Splitcoast.  The cards that everyone makes will be going to a lady (Rachel) in Raleigh, North Carolina, who has been diagnosed with cancer and had to give up her beloved dog, Brodie, because she is unable to take care of the puppy - but she made sure that Brodie went to a loving family.  I hope all the puppy cards cheer up Rachel - I'm sure she can use some humor right now in light of what she faces.

Card Recipe:

Paper: SU Whisper White; Basic Gray - Oliver
Ink:  SU Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Old Olive
Accessories:  Paw Charm; Misc. ribbon

I must remember to put my camera battery in its charging cradle tonight.  Tomorrow, I am visiting with my sis and get to see the newest member of our family, her grandson, Cameron!  I've seen a few pictures of him and he is so darn cute and I can't wait to give him some hugs and kisses too.
I ran out and picked up a couple of really cute frames as a gift - because there will be tons of pictures of this handsome little guy!

Today, my honeypie and I had to drop off the boat at The Boat Dock - trouble with the trolling motor.  Then, honeypie dropped me at Hobby Lobby (he snoozed in the truck - while I shopped around for about 30 minutes).  I finally found some feathers I'd been looking for and some more paper - can't have too much paper!

Well, that's it for today's blurb on the blog.  Later Gator!

Just got back from Kentucky/Tennessee

Hello,

Sorry, no card today and a short post.  I just got back from Kentucky/Tennessee and I am too tired to work on a card.  But, tomorrow, I will be back with another card and will also be working on my card for Mothermark's Tea Pot Tuesday challenge on SCS.  We had a wonderful time down in KY/TN, but Honeypie fractured his little finger and we went to Blanchfield Army Hospital on Ft. Campbell Army Post in Kentucky (which is where we were staying anyway).  They x-rayed his fingers and he fractured the tip of his little finger and they splint it up and gave him prescriptions for pain.  He had his hand on the motor and hit the power trim button to raise the motor to put the bottom brace on and it caught his finger.  The motor weighs hundreds of pounds and when we finally got his finger free - it was perfectly flat and bleeding.  I thought he had lost the tip of his finger, but it was still in tact.  He was in such pain that day - it was horrible.  He is feeling much better (except when he accidentally bumps the splint - and that's a major owie).  But the good news is that he will be just fine.  Gotta go now and I'll be back tomorrow.  Later Gator.

Yummy for the Tummy

TGIF!  It's been a busy Friday, worked a few hours this morning and got off at Noon, ran some errands in Springfield and got home about 2:00 p.m.  I cleaned the house, did laundry and finally got to sit down this evening and whip up a quick cupcake card.  For the life of me, I can't remember where this image came from -- I usually keep good records.  I think the computer gremlin downloaded it because there are a few other images I don't remember saving either!!

Devil's food cupcake with Cream Cheese icing with blue food coloring AND sparkles on the icing. Yummy! Ah well, it's just as well it's only a picture - it's no calories that way!

Card Recipe:  Image (downloaded by computer gremlin - as I can't remember doing it)
Ink:  SU Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip and Taken with Teal; Cherry Cobbler and Real Red
Paper: SU Taken with Teal, Kraft, Whisper White; Cosmo Cricket - Pixie-Licious DP
Accessories: Misc. ribbon and Ranger Sparkles (hard to see)

I hope you like the cupcake - it didn't quite turn out the way I imagined, plus it made me hungry for a cupcake!

Have a wonderful week-end.  Later Gator.

A Girly Girl Card

Hello on this Thursday evening.  This is such a little girly girl card.  I'm probably going to send this to my Aunt Catherine - as she loves the frilly things.  I hate that you can't see the glitter on her petticoat, her bouquet of flowers and shoes.  If I had taken the picture during the day, it would have shown the glitter.  If I hadn't been piddling around and finished the card earlier, I could have taken it during the day -- but no - had to be piddling around the web.  Oh well - another "shoulda moment."

Also, sending some hugs to my sis tonight - as she needs a few today - love and hugs, Barb!!!

I also made a birthday card for my honey pie husband (Jim) tonight.  His birthday is Sunday the 12th.  I can tell you about the card, because he doesn't read my blog (unless he's watching me type over my shoulder - which he isn't tonight).  Jim loves to fish and so do I - but we both always fish and release.  I've had this image (from whence it came I have no clue), but it is a group of fish taking numbers to get on the hook - because they get free yukky (I mean yummy) bait and then get released and the same fish keep going back to the end of the line to jump on the hook again for more bait.  Okay, so it's hard to image the image, but it is funny - just not so funny when you type it out.

Well, that's it for tonight.  Have a good evening.  Later Gator.

Sympathy Card

Good afternoon.  This will be a short post today, since I have a bunch of errands to run in Lincoln.  First of all, this is a CASEd card from Julie Gearinger from SCS.  Please visit her gallery on SCS - it's loaded with gorgeous cards.  Julie's card had a pretty black bow in the lower right corner of the card and I just opted for now bow/ribbon.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  SU Elements of Style
Paper:  SU Whisper White cs; Michael's black cs
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories:  SU label punches; SU embossing folder; SU pearls

As I said, this is a very short post today (although it makes me feel like I'm neglecting a child or something).  Anyway, have a wonderful rest of the  day and see you tomorrow.  Later Gator.

MMTPT110 - Butterflies Abound

This card was entered today on SCS in Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday #110 Challenge.  This is my second week in the challenge.  The reason I love Cindy's Challenge is because the destination is always for someone's birthday, or someone in need of cheering up, get well wishes -- always something very meaningful.  But, it's just so darn fun to read the stories that the gals can put together to make you laugh and, all the cards are gorgeous.  Cindy (Mothermark) is the nicest lady and has a huge heart!

This week, the cards are going to a nice lady (sending the cards is optional) (many of you have probably seen her cards on SCS -- M&M's Grandma).  She is just starting chemotherapy and can use all the well wishes sent to her.

Well, this has been kind of a bum day - took my Blossum cat back to our local vet for follow-up x-rays and found out that there is more fluid amassing around his heart.  So, we are playing it day by day until he needs another tap to drain the fluid - for which we'll have to take him back to St. Louis to the specialist.  Anyway, he had been playing and eating more - so I thought he was doing better.  Blossum has the sweetest disposition of all 3 of our cats.  He never hisses at the other cats, never snarls at them - he just lays back and ignores them or goes over and gives them kisses.  He is such a love.

Card Recipe:

Paper:  SU Night of Navy, Kraft, Blueberry Crisp DP
Inks:  SU - lots of colors
Stamps: Various
Accessories:  SU Ribbons,  Pop-Ups, Rangers Stickles (lots); SU Punch

Well, signing off for now.  Later Gator.

Sisters and Best Friends

Happy Labor Day.  Is it correct to say Happy Labor Day or do you say Good Labor Day or Merry Labor Day - or do you even wish people a Happy Labor Day.  Now I have to worry about that too - geez.  My sister figured out what Ralph Macchio is doing (query from yesterday's blog).  Ralph is writing and directing films, he's married and has 2 kids and he's taught them the "wax on, wax off, wax on, wax off" routine.  Just joshing - maybe his kids haven't seen the old Karate Kid movie - they probably went to the new release with Will Smith's son.   After all, the 80's Karate Kid move is running on AMC now and I think kids bypass that station.  I personally love AMC - the older movies, the Randolph Scott westerns, Cary Grant and Doris Day, Rock Hudson and Doris Day (with Gig Young),  the musicals, the old Christmas movies, Holiday Inn, White Christmas and, of course, I can't forget Ralphie in The Christmas Story.

The above card is dedicated to my sister - as she lovingly checks my blog each day and leaves a comment for me.  My sis, Barb, is the sweetest and loving sister anyone could want and my best friend.  Although when we were little, she might have wanted to trade me off for a couple of hoola hoops or a case of Pepsi.  I think I used to follow her around a lot and my Mom would make Barb take me along with her - which I'm sure it wasn't the coolest thing to have to drag your little sis around!  Love ya - Sis!

Card Recipe:

[Note:  Don't look too close at the skin/hair, as I used Copics and I haven't had my first class yet with Suzanne Dean.]

Stamp:  SU Nicest Things
Paper: SU Pacific Point, Pink, Whisper White; Basic Gray DP
Ink: Copics (Skin; e01, e02, e11 and 0); (Hair: e35, e31, yr20, e53); (Clothes:  SU Pacific Point, Marina Mist, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight; Regal Rose, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Old Artichoke)
Accessories:  Prima Blue/Pink Flowers; SU Blue Gem Brad; Misc. Blue/White ribbon)

Hope  you have a wonderful Labor Day!  Later Gator.

Little Blue/Pink Ghosts and the Dreaded Sock Monkey

Sunday - a day to rest and relax.  I bet the majority of people treat Sunday just like any other day, errands, grocery shopping, etc., etc.  When I was little, stores weren't open on Sundays.  Now I think the only thing not open are the car dealerships!

The card above certainly isn't scary - the images are cute - EXCEPT FOR THE DREADED SOCK MONKEY!  I hate sock monkeys - they totally creep me out - they are too similar to clowns - which I also hate.  Totally, totally creepy -- heebeegeebies!  Okay, now that I have that out of my system - I can move along to the card recipe:

Recipe:
Stamps:  The Pink Cat Studio - Scary Siblings - Digi
Paper:  SU Pacific Point, Pink, Whisper White; Basic Gray DP and SU DP
Ink:  Pacific Point, Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake and Real Red
Accessories:  SU Blue Gem Brad; Prima Black Sparkly Flowers; Black Sparkly Eek - Michael's; and Ranger Blue, Gold and Icicle Stickles.

Today was wonderful outside - sunny and high in the 70's, but very windy.  I sat on my side porch on the swing and read the newspaper and part of a book.  Honey Pie (Jim) is outside piddling in one of the garages - he said he was going to wax the boat, but I'm pretty sure that won't get done until tomorrow.  He's out there right now chatting with one of our neighbors and they are both sitting on the back deck -- "wax on, wax off, wax on . . . ." The Karate Kid  (The original movie from back in the 80's with Ralph Macchio).  I wonder what happened to Ralph Macchio?

Well, that'll wrap it up for tonight.  Have a great Labor Day.  Later Gator.

QFTD25 - All Hail Queen Phyllis on SCS

Happy Saturday to all.  On SCS, Ms. Phyllis (SparklePlenty1000) was named as QFTD (Queen for the Day).  To play along, you  pick a card from the Queen's gallery and try to copy it the best you can -- in her honor.  The card in the gallery of Ms. Phyllis was the same as above - EXCEPT - she had a black ribbon - same flowers but her flowers were white and the colors were the same colors - but different shades of those colors.  I got a reply back from Ms. Phyllis and she did like her card!   If you get a chance - check out the QFTD25 gallery and you can see the other SCSers that took part made really, really beautiful cards and some funny cards too!

Card Recipe:
Stamp:  SU Fifth Avenue Floral
Paper:  SU Daffodil Delight and Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray DP
Ink:  Daffodil Delight
Accessories:  Ranger's Gold Stickles; SU embossing folders and pop dots; SU ribbon

I got busy this morning and got my housework caught up and then worked on a couple of cards (the one above included).  My honey pie (Jim) and I went into Lincoln for dinner - I had walleye and he had catfish - it was good, but we were stuffed when we left the restaurant.  We basically rolled to the truck like weebles.

That's it for today.  Hope you had a pleasant Saturday!   Later Gator!

Blue is My Happy Color

I read an article recently sitting in a doctor's waiting area and it was about colors and what they mean to people.  They (who is they I want to know) say that everyone has a happy color and, if asked, I would have to say blue is my happy color.  I am drawn to blue like a magnet, so there is a lot of blue here in Kathyville!  What color pulls you like a magnet?

I started this card a few days back and set it aside to do a few Halloween cards and finally picked it back up today to finish.  As if you couldn't tell, I love layers -- lots of layers -- the kind where you take it to the post office and you can here the chaching alert when you walk in the door.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  SU Pocket Silhouette
Paper:  SU Not Quite Navy, Kraft, Blueberry Crisp DP; Cream CS from Michael's
Ink:  Marina Mist
Accessories:  SU Rhinestones, SU punch; Ribbon - Pink Hedgehog

So, today was sort of a blah day - just meaning I did one load of laundry, went and got my hair trimmed and that was it.  I should have been running the swifter over all the floors and dusting the furniture, etc., etc. -- you get the idea.  But, I sat at the computer desk and then walked across the room to my craft desk and piddled and then back to the computer desk.  I spent the whole day in the office/craft room and did one card.    Oh well, I guess that's okay - tomorrow is another day -- OMG -- Scarlet O'Hara lives!

Well that's it for today - be back tomorrow.  Later Gator!!

It is raining (which is good) and storming (which is bad).  There are only a couple of things I'm afraid of - spiders and storms.  I had a storm cellar put in when we built our house 5 years ago - just because I am afraid of storms.  Have you ever tried to gather up 3 cats to take to a storm cellar?  Well, by the time I got them gathered up the last time I was going to the storm cellar, the storm was over.  If I bring out the pet carriers, they hide.  I can't carry all 3 in my arms - so that isn't a good plan.  So, I guess if the big one comes along, Chewey, Blossum, Missy and I will end up with Dorothy in Oz and/or Kansas!

I'll sign off for now and hope  you like the little Halloween card.  Later Gator!

Scary - Nah - Too Cute!

When I saw this digi image at Mo's Digital Pencil, I knew I had to have him - isn't he cute!  I made up a few "not so conventional" Halloween cards tonight - not using all the typical Halloween colors.  This little card - guess what happened - a duh moment.  I finished up the card and picked it up and I have the front upside down - so it opens down instead of up.  Oh well - whoever gets this card will be so surprised when they try to open it to read the inside.

Today, we are getting some much needed rain here in this area and they said the possibility of storms.   I sound like the weather lady on tv - now, back to Jim for the local news!  Geez, sometimes I scare myself.  As my honey pie says - I have a few minor issues!!

Card Recipe:

Digi Stamp:  Mo's Digital Pencil
Paper:  SU Pacific Point, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie; 7 Gypsies DP
SU Markers: Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard
Accessories:  Spooky Boo Black Ribbon - Michael's; Sparkly Black Flowers by Prima; Orange Gem Brads from SU

Well, I am dog tired as I was up until 1:30 a.m. this morning - just couldn't sleep.  I wonder where the saying "dog tired" comes from, why not cat tired, horse tired, emu tired - inquiring minds want to know.  Okay, that's sort of rambling.  So, that's it for today.  Hope you'll stop by again.  Later Gator!
