The fun challenge this week at Totally Stampalicious is to make a bookmark.  I chose to use one of the stamp sets from a new artist at Totally Stampalicious - Sylvia Zet.  This set of really, really cute stamps is called Friendly Dexter (Dexter being the adorable dragon).  You should stop over at the Totally Stampalicious store for a look see - and be prepared to giggle - as there are some really, really fun stamps and sentiments!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Friendly Dexter - Sylvia Zet for Totally Stampalicious

Squigglefly Challenge 113

Squigglefly Challenge this week is:  Use chalk (any kind), pencil (any kind), ball point pen, highlighter or crayons on your project or use a school-themed image or sentiment on your project.  I went with the school-themed idea.  You really need to check out the awesome images at Squigglefly - there are so many talented artists and so many digis - a huge and wonderful selection!  I bought another Shy Bear image called "Shy Bear/Billboard."  When I saw it - I thought it could just be an assignment board for homework - easy peasy homework - it's too bad that the assignment boards (when I was in school) didn't  have homework assignments like that!

Card Recipe:

Image:  Shy Bear/Billboard Digi - Squigglefly
Paper:  Stemma Masterpiece Gradeschool DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics (Shy Bear:  E55, 53 and 51; Bird: R85, 83, 81 and YR04, 04 and 01; Eyes on bird and bear: YG07;  Board: At you Spica Pen - Lipstick)
Accessories:  Really Reasonable Ribbon purple ric rac; Red flower and button - unknown

Okay - have a few more cards to upload for challenges.  I usually don't load them all in one day - but this week has been mixed up.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and later gator!

One Stitch At A Time 77

The challenge at One Stitch At A Time this week is to use a digi for Halloween.  This digi is by Delicious Doodles at Stitchy Bear Stamps - and is entitled "She Wolf."  I just have to say this image should be entitled "PMS and a Full Moon."  The poor girl just had her hair done, her weekly manicure and had on a new pink designer dress with matching jewelry, however, she didn't look at the calendar and, lo and behold, a Full Moon.  She didn't get her jewelry off and so it's stuck on her for the duration of the turn - and her new pink dress is shredded - is that just not the pits!!  I think She Wolf is an awesome digi and will be using her as one of my Halloween cards this year!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  She Wolf digi - Delicious Doodles at Stitchy Bear Stamps
Paper:  Under a Blood Red Moon and Jezebel's Remains by Crafy Chaos DP
Ink:  Copics:  (Fur:  A touch of C2, 3; Hair/Fur:  YR24, 23, 21; Remains of dress:  R85, 83 and 81; Eyes:  At you Spica - Lipstick; Jewelry - At You Spica - Blossom)
Accessories:  Maya Road chipboard swirls; Glamour Dust glitter; Nesties scalloped square die; SU pop dots

I am going to have a few more special  Halloween cards - not for the faint of heart.

Take care and later gator!!

FS238 and CCEE1134

The Featured Stamper 238 at SCS this week is Lydia (understandblue).  I was so excited to hear that she was selected - she is just the sweetest gal - and always helps - even when it isn't under her job description.  Lydia has an awesome sense of humor and a fun blog!  She has a lovely gallery and I selected a card - just like the one above - but I used gold and embossing on mine and she used ink.  This is also for the CCEE challenge 1134 to use the color gold.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  SU Faith in Nature
Paper:  SU CS and Michael's gold mirrored CS
Ink:  Versamark and Ranger gold distressing powder
Accessories: Nesties scalloped circles and Nesties circles; Embossing powder and SU pop dots

A few interesting facts about our bodies:

Did you know that you use 200 muscles to take just one step!

Did you know that the acid in your stomach is strong enough to dissolve razor blades!  Wow - yuk - bet you wanted to know that - didn't you?!

Okay, gotta run some errands - might be back later.

If not, later gator!

Just Believe

This card was made for the QFTD challenge on SCS - the new queen being Holstein (she has a wonderful gallery).  I love this SU set (Just Believe).  I have used it for so many different occasions - and it always turns out perfect.  This time I used one of the new in colors - Island Indigo (I love it) - matted it up in the same color and used SU's new scalloped ribbon in the same color.  I used an EF for the background.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  SU - Just Believe
Paper:  SU CS
Ink:  SU Island Indigo
Accessories:  Island Indigo scalloped SU ribbon; SU pop dots; Cuttlebug EF

It's been a nice Saturday - quiet and pretty outside.

The Eastern coast of the US is getting pounded by Hurricane Irene - it appears, unfortunately, that there is already a lot of damage from Irene.

Take care - later gator!

Totally Stampalicious Challenge 08-21-2011

Recently, I won some awesome and fun stamps from Totally Stampalicious during a blog hop and thought it might be fun to play in their blog challenges.  Today, I used Nurse Margaret and she looks like one tough old bird!  The outside of the card says "Get Well" and you open it and Nurse Margaret says "whenever."  Too funny!  There are a few other funny sentiments in this set.  The challenge this week is to use at least 3 punches on your card.  I used two SU label punches for the sentiment; I used a MS loop punch down the left side of the DP and I used a Nesties rectangle die on the brown mat around Nurse Margaret (not sure if they count dies).  On the inside, I used an SU Top Note die over some matching DP.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Nurse Margaret (Bugaboo) Totally Stampalicious
Paper:  Kaisercraft Lush Collection DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Tuxedo Black; Copics:  (Skin:  E21, 00, 000, R21, R30; Lips:  R37; Glasses:  C2 (topped with Crystal Effects); Clipboard: C3, E33, 31, 30; Uniform/shoes/hat: BG01, 000, 0000, C2)
Accessories:  Nesties rectangle die; Martha Stewart Loop punch; SU 2 label punches; SU Top Note punch (inside); Green/white; Yellow/white twine; SU pop dots

Okay, this really is my last post today - I think this might be my 3rd or 4th post.

Okay, later gator!!

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #57

The challenge this week at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz blog is to use layers on your card.  I used one of my favorite images from Kenny K called "All That."  She just seems like she's full of attitude and if you don't like it - too bad.  I like the combination of pink and brown and Bo Bunny's Garden Girl DP has an awesome variation on those colors.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  All That digi - Kenny K's
Paper:  Bo Bunny Garden Girl DP; Gina K Luxury 120; SU CS
Ink:  Copics: (Skin:  E21, 000, 00, R21 and R30; Hair:  E27, 23 and 50 - plus Dark Umber Prismacolor pencil; Outfit/Hat:  RV32, 11, 000, 00 (and a touch of Tuscan Red prismacolor pencil on the hat); Shoes: YR31, 30 and Y23; Eyes: YG63, 61; Lips: R85 and a touch of the Copic Spica pink glitter)
Accessories:  Nesties label dies; Kaisercraft pale pink pearls; Brown satin ribbon from a Really Reasonable Ribbon kit.

Thanks, as always, for dropping by.

Later gator - as I am all posted out today!

There's Magic in the Air 08-22-2011 and TSC0826

The challenge at There's Magic in the Air is to create a scene.  I checked out the store and found this cute Halloween digi called Batty for Candy Corn.  I have never seen such a cute bat!  So, I colored up the image, added a black fence and some grass.  I was going to make it a dark scene with a moon - but this little cute bat is all about the daytime!  This card is also for the TSC at SCS - to make a Halloween card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Batty for Candy Corn digi - Paper Cupcakes
Paper:  Cosmo Cricket Matilda DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  (Bat: E51, 53, 55 and R21; Candy Corn: YR68 and Y08; Tree:  E33, 34 and 39)
Accessories:  Cheery Lynn fence die and grass die; Orange/white twine; SU pop dots

Okeedokee - later gator!

Squigglefly Challenge #112

The challenge at Squigglefly this week is to use water on your image - and as I was looking through Squigglefly's store, this image just said "buy me."  The Shy Bear series is truly adorable and there are tons of other cute and fun images by various artists - it's always so hard to choose!!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Shy Bear and Gold Fish digi - Squigglefly
Paper:  Basic Grey Lauderdale DP (outside) and Jillibean Watermelon Gazpacho DP (inside); Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  (Shy Bear:  E51, 53, 55 and R21; Fish bowl/water:  BG0000, 000, 01; Goldfish:  YR61, 65 and 68)
Accessories:  Glamour Dust glitter on water and fish; Orange/white twine; Prima orange flower; yellow iridescent flower unknown; SU gem brad and pop dots

Thanks for dropping by and taking a look!  Later Gator!

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #118

There is a fun sketch over a Priscilla's this week and as I like this layout, I will use it again.  I chose one of the Hopper images from House Mouse - isn't it just so cute?  As always at Priscilla's, you have a selection between 2 layouts - both are the same - except one of them is a bit fancier.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  House Mouse - Air Head
Paper:  Jillibean Watermelon Gazpacho Soup DP; Gina K Luxury 120; SU CS
Ink:  Tuxedo Black; Copics:  (Bunny:  E30, 31, 33 and R21; Fan:  YG05, 06 and 07; Ground Shadow:  E53, 55)
Accessories:  Nesties scalloped ovals die; SU pop dots; Orange/white; green/white and yellow/white twine

I found a few more oxymorons to give you a little giggle:

Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

Why do they call it a TV set when you only have one?

Christmas - What other time of the year do you sit in front of a dead tree and eat candy out of your socks?

Well, I need to link my card up to Priscilla's - but I'll be back (ooh, flashback of The Terminator) - sorry!

Later gator!

One Stitch At A Time 76

The challenge this week at One Stitch At A Time is to "bling it up."  So, I used some pearls and glitter on the silhouette for sparkle.  I also used a Copic in the shadows of the silhouette for a bit of color.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Precious Pixies digi by Stitchy Stamps at Stitchy bear Stamps
Paper:  Prima's Moulin Rouge DP (this is my favorite of all of their DPs to date); Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  BG11 - for wings and shadow of silhouette's dress
Accessories:  Zva Creative pearl runners; Prima's Say it with Studs pearl ornament; Glamour Dust glitter; White/silver ribbon from stash; Bella's Baubles on star; Nesties scallop square die

Thanks for taking a look see and hope you had a wonderful week-end.

Unfortunately, the father of a very good friend of mine passed away Saturday morning and I will be going to the visitation on Thursday night and the funeral Mass on Friday morning.  He was the nicest gentleman - always had a kind remark for all.

So, will be back with my Mothermark challenge card later.

Later gator!

SU Card Club

These are the projects we did last week at our Stampin' Up monthly meeting.  All of the projects used all SU products and I think my favorite is the one on the far right - pretty and simple - but I really like the colors used.  The little box in the middle was fun, but I'm not much into 3d projects.

Just a quick post to show the fun projects, will be back later with my Mothermark weekly teapot challenge card.

Later gator!

CCEE1133 and FS237

This card is for the CCEE1133 in which the theme this week is "kiss."  Sometimes pre-colored digis come in quite handy when you are running low on time.  Finny and Franny Fish are just too cute - and ended up being perfect for the CCEE challenge this week. I also used this card for the FS237 over at Splitcoast.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Finny Fish pre-colored digi from Doodle Pantry
Paper:  Creative Imaginations Xtreme Sports DP; SU DP (inside) and SU CS
Accessories:  Bella's Baubles, Nesties label die; SU ribbon and pop dots

Well, it's a lovely day here in Central Illinois - low 80's and sunny - hardly any humidity - perfect to get outside and enjoy the weather while you can -- as Autumn is approaching in a month - and then you know what Season comes into play!!

My two cats are sitting behind me screaming for their lunch - like they are starving and I swear they can tell time.  I leave two bowls of crunchy out all the time and two bowls of water (it doesn't matter there are two - they both push to eat out of the same bowl of food and drink out of the same bowl of water!)  In any event, I also split a little can of food at Noon for them and one in the evening - and they always start in close to the time for the can to pop open!  So, off to the kitchen with two fur balls behind me!

Have a wonderful Sunday and later gator!

Mo's DP2 Challenge #96

This week, the challenge at Mo's DP2 is "Are you Blue?"  Use blues on your card - and since blue is  my favorite color - that wasn't very hard to do.  I used an image from Mo's DP2 shop called "Big Shoes," which is an image of a little girl playing dress-up in her Mom's shoes, hat and purse - just so very cute!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Big Shoes digi - Mo's DP2
Paper:  Memory Box Brioche DP; Basic Grey Granola DP; Gina K Luxury 120; SU CS
Ink:  Copics (Hair:  Y21, YR31, 32 and E35; Hat: E40, 41 and 43; B12, 14 and 16; YG05, 07, YR30, Y02 and Y07; Outfit:  B91, 93 and 95; Shoes:  B12, 14, 16, C3, 4 and 5; Purse: B12, 14 and 16)
Accessories:  Nesties label die; Bella's Baubles; Wild Orchid Roses; SU pop dots and Really Reasonable Ribbon - lace

I think I liked the way this card turned out - although my sponging around the image while still in the die - needs a bit of practice - one side is decent - the other side is a bit too much.

Thanks for stopping by.  Later Gator!

Squigglefly Challenge 111

Challenge 111 at Squigglefly is to use some sort of texture on your card.  I punched flowers out from various DP scraps and popped them up on the vines.  The smallest flowers and butterflies were colored with Copics.  Take a cruise over to the Squigglefly blog and check out the projects by the design team for some inspiration and join the challenge.  There are several freebies on SF's store site if you would like to enter and use one of those!!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Floral Frenzy digi - Squigglefly
Paper:  The BG and layered papers are from Basic Grey's Lauderdale DP pack; the flowers are from various DP scraps; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  (Leaves:  YG05, 07 and 09; Butterflies:  YR00, 01 and 02; R81, 83 and 85 and B000, 00 and 02; The various tiny flowers are from the foregoing colors).
Accessories:  Various SU punches; SU pop dots

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look see.  Later gator!

There's Magic in the Air Challenge 08-15-2011

The challenge issued at There's Magic in the Air this week was to use the colors brown, pink and white.  The brown DP I used has some white markings in it - so, I think I'm safe.  You should drop by the blog and take a look see - the awesome design team has some amazing cards up for inspiration and there is a freebie up  for your use.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Cupcake Kiss - Paper Cupcakes
Paper:  Bo Bunny Gabrielle DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  (Cupcake wrapper: E30, 31 and 33; Icing:  R81, 83 and 85; Hershey's Kiss on top of cupcake: E25, 27 and 29)
Accessories:  Circle Nesties die; Really Reasonable Ribbon - pink/gold - from kit; SU pop dots

My pool temperature is 84 - a very chilly 84 degrees.  Where are the August 90 degree temperatures?  I would like to be able to use my pool before it's time to close it down for the season.  Oh well, it will be what it will be - without any complaints from me!

Back in a few with another card upload for Squigglefly.

Thanks - and later gator!

One Stitch At A Time #75

This card is for the One Stitch At A Time challenge 75 - which this week - is anything goes.  I used two images from Stitchy Bear Stamps - Steampunk Sally is by Stitchy Stamps and the cog and chain frame is from Delicious Doodles.  I'm not sure what attracts me to Steampunk - as the Victoria era isn't my favorite piece of history, but I was always drawn to science fiction - even as a youngster, i.e., Jules Verne was awesome.

Card Recipe:

Stamps:  Steampunk Sally:  Stitchy Stamps at Stitchy Bear and the Cog and Chain Frame from Delicious Doodles at Stitchy Bear
Paper:  Simply Steampunk DP from Crafty Chaos, Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics: Skin:  E000, 00, 21 and R21; Hat:  BG 93, 96, 99 and 72 and YR24 (clock on hat); Slip:  BG0000, 000, 01; Shoes:  BG72; Cogs and wheels: Yr23 and 24; Hair: YR30, 31, Y21 and E51)
Accessories:  Wild Orchid Roses and 1-1/4" washer

I know some of you out there may not like the steampunk art, but thanks for looking anyway!  Later Gator!

Queen for the Day #73 - Jenna Barber

The new queen for this week is Jenna Barber, who like her sweet mother-in-law, Karen Barber, has an awesome gallery - Jenna learned from the best!  I chose to CASE a card from Jenna's gallery using the same image and exact same layout, but I changed the colors and made 3 layers of sails, popping them up, and colored them green with Copics.  It will be a good masculine card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  SU Sail Away
Paper:  Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Sails: G03, 05 and 07 and a Copics Black Spica glitter pen for the boat and a Copics Aqua Spica glitter pen for the waves
Accessories:  Green/white twine; Sizzix EF; SU pop dots and unknown yellow glitter brads

Okay, going back outside before the storm arrives - if it arrives - need to power wash my porch and pool deck.

So, happy week-end.  Later gator!

CCEE1132 - Stucco or what??

My friend, Shirley, is on the team over at CCEE and I thought I'd follow a few of their challenges.  This week - the challenge is to use glass on your card.  I used a Flourishes set called Windows of the World.  I put Crystal Effects on my windows and the outside - around the window is suppose to be a stucco finish.  What I should have done is to use distress inks and a sponge, but . . . next time! I'm not sure if it looks like stucco or my Copic covered with smeary Prismacolor pencil - but, as they say - it is what it is.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Flourishes Windows of the World
Paper:  7 Gypsies Diagram DP; Gina K Luxury 120; SU CS
Ink:  Copics: (Window Frame:  E33, 35 and 37; Glass:  BG0000, 000; Ivy:  G03, 05, 07; Flower Pot:  E11, 13; Flowers:  BG45; Outside wall:  E51 and Terra Cotta Prismacolor pencil)
Accessories:  Nesties label dies; Twine; SU pop dots

I haven't seen the predicted rain or storms yet - the sun is shining brightly and it is only 80 degrees today - an awesome day to be outside - which is where I am headed directly.

Enjoy the beautiful week-end.  Later gator!

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge #55

"Fun in the Sun" is the theme for the challenge at Kenny K's this week - and I am just getting it in under the wire.  I actually had it done yesterday, but forgot to upload it, etc., etc.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Batter digi - Kenny K's
Paper:  We R Memory Keepers - Vintage T (very cool paper - just got it); Gina K Luxury 120; SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  (Helmet, belt, shoes:  B91, 93 and 95; Bat: E51, 53 and 55; Skin:  E000, 00, 21; Uniform: Hints of BG0000, 000, 10 and shadow around image: BG10; Shadow under shoes: C2 and 3)
Accessories:  Twine; Circle nesties

I had lunch with my sweet and cute son today at the Olive Garden - they have such a yummy salad - but we had to wait for about 20 minutes - they were just packed.

The Illinois State Fair started today.  I used to go to the fair when I was younger - just for the fair food and to prowl around with my friends.  They always had bands on top of the buildings - but they no longer have that for kids -- too bad.

The weather is really nice - in the 70's, hardly any humidity.  We are suppose to get rain and storms tonight and tomorrow - which cuts into my pool time, however, we really do need the rain.

Okay, that's it tonight - hope you all have a wonderful week-end!  Later gator!
