Squigglefly - Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals 9-3-2012
It's time for Rhonda's Rowdy Rascals from Squigglefly to tender the challenge today - make a monochromatic card! Making this type of card always challenges me - as I love to add many colors. So, what I did for this card was to print the image itself in an orangish color and then just used a bright background and ribbon to set off the image. And, by the way, this is a new image at Squigglefly by Lynne Stansbery. On Saturday the 1st there was a release of several images at Squigglefly's shop - and all are wonderful!!!
I hope you can join us this week and make a monochromatic card and link it up over at Squigglefly's challenge blog - and you might win a prize!!
Card Recipe:
Stamp: A Good Little Witch by Lynne Stansbery for Squigglefly
Paper: Ivory CS; Memory Box Nightfall DP
Ink: Computer
Accessories: Orange ribbon
Guess what - we have had rain since Friday night - I think about 2 inches or so! And, it's strange because everything is greening up - just like Spring. I've had hydrangeas in my front yard that bloom every year from Spring through Summer - except this year. Even giving them water - they failed to bloom. You should see them today - all upright and pretty, albeit no blooms - but that' okay - they look healthy. My lilac bush and spirea bushes look much better today as well! I wish it would rain all week.
On a sad note, we are closing up the pool next week - but as fast as time seems to fly - Memorial Day of 2013 will be here before you know it!
Thanks so much for stopping by - later gator!

She is so cute, I love that image. Just adorable. You definitely showcased her on beautiful paper and tied it up purty with that orange ribbon.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got some much needed rain and your plants are looking alive again. Isn't it amazing how fast things green up with the rain?
she is very cute Kathy and you have made a beautiful card.
ReplyDeletethat paper looks stunning.
greetings karin
Great clean and simple layout Kathy. Love the paper you picked and your bow sets it off so nicely. I for one am not sorry to see summer go, although it doesn't feel like it's leaving any time soon - we're in the triple digits again this week!
ReplyDeleteI love this card! gorgeous pick of colors!
ReplyDeleteKathy, I really love how you did the image...looks super and made a great card.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like rain water. Hubby and I always notice when it gets extremely hot and we are watering and watering the lawn, it doesn't help nearly as much as when it gets rain. It's a wonderful thing.
Seems summer is going much too quickly for me.
