Tutorial Time on SpeedyTV Challenge 37

Below is my tutorial for Challenge 37 on Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.'s Tutorial Time on SpeedyTV.

Hello and welcome to my Concertina Card Tutorial.  I purchased a book by Scor-Pal, Score, Fold & Create and it had so many awesome tutorials.  I changed up their tutorial a bit to suit my card – made it a bit easier and less embellished.  So, let’s get started.

Supplies:

Scoring Board of some sort;
Cutting board or scissors;
Border Punch of choice;
Ink and Stamp Set of choice; and
12x12 Designer Paper of Choice.

Step 1:

Cut your 12x12 designer paper to 12x8

Step 2:

Put your 12x8 piece of designer paper on your scoring board with the 12” length across.  Now score the side you want facing out at 3 inches and 9 inches (these will be mountain folds).  Turn the piece over and score at 6 inches (this will be the valley fold).

Step 3:

Lay out your scored piece of 12x8 designer paper and take a ruler and on the left side of the designer paper – using the ruler make a pencil mark at the 5 inch mark.  Now go the right side of your designer paper and, using your ruler – make a pencil mark at the 1 inch mark.  Take your ruler and pencil and connect the 5 inch mark to the 1 inch mark drawing a light line between the 2 marks.  Now take your cutting board or scissors and trim the top piece off.

Step 4:

Now take a border punch of your choice and punch across the top of the 12x8 designer paper.

Step 5:

Now take the 12x8 piece of scored, trimmed and punched designer paper and make mountain folds at the 3 and 9 inch scored lines and a valley fold at the 6 inch scored line.

Step 6:

Now you are ready to stamp and/or decorate the card.  I used a sentiment from In My Den by Mark’s Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. – as you can see on the front panel.

I used the images and sentiments from In My Den to decorate the inside of my card.

But remember, you can use plain cardstock and designer paper together, you can use die cuts, ribbons and other embellishments to create a really fancy Concertina card.

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial – enjoy.
